Welcome friends, it’s Catherine Sidman, @Sidco_Cat and this is my podcast.  As a cannabis industry professional for the last decade, I have unique access to the experts, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who make this industry great!  Join me and my guests as we dive into the people, processes and products that make up this wild ecosystem of cannabis, psychedelics and emerging medicines.

Someday I am going to do a survey and see if my community is more comprised of cat people or dog people.  I actually think my audience has a preponderance of chicken people, which I am also one.  What I do know is that stewards of plants and fungus are usually animal lovers.    We all know the enjoyment and entertainment our fur babies bring into our lives.  There is little to compare to the pleasure and utility animals can bring into our lives whether they are companions or working parts of our lives.  Animals can bring so much positivity that it is easy to gloss over some of the challenges of pet parenting.  While nothing can be quite as satisfying as a good boy, it is also true that nothing is quite as frustrating and life effecting as having a troubled animal in your home or farmstead.  When destructive anxiety, incontinence causing bowel disorders, arthritis and inflammation plague our pets can stress the whole household. Cannabis to the rescue again!  I invite you to learn more about CBD therapy for pets today.  Trish Wilhelm is a licensed Veterinary Technician who partnered with veterinarian Dr. Chelsea Luedke, to start VetCS in 2017.  Over the last 5 years, Trish and Dr. Luedke have been utilizing their CBD formulations as another arrow in the quiver of their busy veterinary practice.  As with so many two-footed patients who discovered cannabis as the last resort, Dr Luedke and Trish had patients who were just at the end of a long list of tried and missed therapies when they first started implementing CBD.  The results spoke for themselves, and a company was born to provide this medicine to pets and working animals across their practice, and now, thanks to their website, vetcs.com, across the country.  Trish is not new to cannabis and is such a great ambassador for this plant to people who have never considered engaging with it before.  I am so thankful that her decades long love of the plant interrupted her rather conservative career in veterinary medicine and gave rise to VetCS.  Every time a cannabinoid product is purchased and used in another home, we are getting closer to normalizing cannabis as medicine for the planet.  There are people who would never even consider this medicine for themselves who are won over when their dog no longer suffers crippling separation anxiety and their show horse trailers with no fuss.  When you listen to Trish evangelize the power the of this medicine, you will see what I mean about being an ambassador.  She is smart, professional, grounded in the science and truly engaged in both what this medicine can do, and the actual pharmacokinetic routes and therapeutic applications of CBD.  If you wonder how Trish and Dr. Luedke assure quality in their extracts, I did too.  Sometimes, the only answer is buying the freaking factory.  Which they did.  Trish is a boss babe and I am here for all of it. You will see what I mean as you listen in to this chat with Trish Wilhelm from VetCS.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
