Sometimes we face opposition during the course of our work, and it feels like there is a force levied against us. There is a powerful spiritual undercurrent in this whole conversation with my new friend Acacea Lewis. But I say, “Not today, Satan!” Technical issues, bad internet, failing platforms and reloading operating systems were not going to stop this chat. Acacea Lewis is a powerfully knowledgeable voice for personal and spiritual growth through traditional sacraments. From her very name, which is a beautiful picture of who she is in the community, to her journey up until now, I see God’s hand on her and her work. One of my favorite parts of these chats is that they are unplanned and unscripted. I am learning about my guests along with you. I am hearing these stories with you and my reactions are organic and genuine. For the few seconds in the middle of the chat when Acacea’s internet dropped out, I thought we might have to do start over another day. I don’t know how to recreate the interest and energy of a first meeting and a fresh conversation. I am so glad I didn’t need to. We just got back on track and kept going.
