Welcome friends, it’s Catherine Sidman, @Sidco_Cat and this is my podcast. As a cannabis industry professional for the last decade, I have unique access to the experts, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who make this industry great! Join me and my guests as we dive into the people, processes and products that make up this wild ecosystem of cannabis, psychedelics and emerging medicines.
At the recent CannaDelic show in Miami, I had the distinct pleasure of moderating several panels. Prior to the panel, we have usually exchanged a few emails and we might have a quick chat. Other than that, it is really a chaotic reality show with people who have never met before in front of a live audience. What does it say about me that this is one of my all time, favorite things to do? Something beautiful comes together when you have engaged speakers, an engaged audience and room to share expertise and passion. Cannadelic had a perfect combination of a great speaker line up and a very engaged audience in beautiful Miami. That is how I met Philip. When I first met him in person I had to see if his feet were touching the ground, he exudes this light, gentle energy that just seems to float a little. He was spot on during the panel, taking space, giving space, adding words where he could elevate the conversation but also being so encouraging of the other speakers. When it’s like this, I find myself just listening along with audience. The hardest part of my job is not getting so relaxed into listening that I forget I have to keep it moving. At the end of our talk, Philip asked the audience to stay for a big group selfie and I loved that. The discussion was so led by audience participation that it only made sense to capture the whole room in the memory. Philip’s specialty is cannabis hospitality. He elevates the idea of cannabis hospitality from dinner with a side of kush to making room for a relationship with the plant in each individual heart. When I listen to Philip, I start to make sense of the idea of a making my life a warmer and more hospitable place for plants and people. And don’t for a minute think I am downplaying the amazing actual events that he and his team are offering with beautiful parings of craft flower and heady food at swanky Bay Area locales. I am just saying it is that, and more. Philip has a very special way about him and I am so glad that he made the time to share this interview space. Listen in to the chat, I think you will feel right at home with me, Phillip Wolf and cannabis.
